When to Bring in an Interior Designer

Most people think they need an interior designer when they are building a house, knocking down walls, or about to make a decision that involves more dust than they are emotionally prepared for.

And yes, that is definitely a time to call one.

But honestly, you do not need to be in the middle of a giant renovation to need help.

Sometimes you need an interior designer because you have bought three rugs and somehow none of them are right. Or your living room has technically been “almost done” for two years. Or you know something is off, but you cannot figure out whether it is the layout, the lighting, the curtains, or all of the above.

That is where I come in.

You do not have to replace everything you own. You do not have to throw away the furniture you have had forever or start over with a completely blank room. Sometimes there are pieces worth keeping. Sometimes there is furniture with good bones that just needs a little help. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you what is making the room feel weird before you spend more money trying to fix it.

A designer helps you make a plan.

What stays. What goes. What gets moved. What is worth investing in. What can wait. What looks cute online but would be completely wrong in your actual house.

Because design is never really about one thing. It is how everything works together. The layout. The lighting. The colors. The furniture. The little details that make a room feel finished instead of like it is waiting for something.

And it should still feel like you.

Not like you hired someone to turn your house into a showroom you are scared to sit in. Just your home, but more pulled together. More functional. More like the kind of place you want to come back to.

You do not need a new house..you might just need fresh eyes and a plan.
